History of the WSYM competition

Formerly run for over 20 years by the West Suffolk Schools' Music Association, this competition has been supported in recent years by the Suffolk Sinfonia.

The list of former winners goes back to 1985.

The West Suffolk Music Competition has helped many participants on their way music and in other fields. You might like to know where they are now.

James is studying for a Advanced Postgraduate Diploma with Barnaby Robson at the Royal College of Music.

Andrew Wolstenholme

After winning WSYM, Andy went off to London to study Nursing at King's College where he continued to play trombone in University of London Symphony Orchestra as well as various jazz ensembles.
