Andrew Wolstenholme
After winning WSYM, Andy went off to London to study Nursing at King's College where he continued to play trombone in University of London Symphony Orchestra as well as various jazz ensembles.
On finishing at London, Andy joined the Army studying at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and commissioning into Suffolk's local county regiment, the Royal Anglian Regiment with whom he served in Northern Ireland and Iraq. Andy was fortunate to be posted back to Bury St. Edmunds for two years from 2006, during which time he was vey pleased to be able to play with the Suffolk Sinfonia.
Andy now lives in West Sussex where he serves as a Police Officer. Music is still very much a part of his life and as well as singing in a choir and his patrol car, he is proud to support 1996 WSYM winner Tom Bootle by playing trombone in his band, Captive State.
