Matthew Fletcher

Matthew graduated from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, with a double First in Music. He made his redital debut in 2005 at the Guildhall in Bury St Edmunds and has continued to perform extensively as an accompanist and solo pianist. Matthew currently learns with Michael Dussek.

Whilst studying at Caius he held the post of "Peter Walker Organ Scholar" and with the choir he has toured Bordeaux, Valencia, Germany, Switzerland and Ireland. He has recorded three CDs with the choir, performing solo works by Mansel Thomas, Judith Bingham, and most recently Judith Wier. Other musical activities include co-directing Cambridge University's Jazz Orchestra and working with the student opera company "Shadwell Opera". He was assistant musical director for the company's production of "Cosi Fan Tutte" and "Die Zauberflote", and Head Repetiteur for their production of Britten's "A Midsummer Night's Dream".

Matthew recently won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music, where he will be studying piano accompaniment from September 2010, and he is a recipient of the Musician Benevolent Fund's Sir Henry Richardson Scolarship.
